The remains of a missing U.S. soldier have been recovered off the coast of Morocco following an extensive international search effort.
The Army identified the soldier as 27-year-old 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., who was found in the Atlantic Ocean after disappearing during a recreational hike.
Officials said Key was one of two soldiers who fell from a cliff after participating in African Lion, a multinational military exercise held in Morocco.
Search crews continue working to locate the second missing soldier.
President Donald Trump is rejecting Iran’s latest response to a U.S. peace proposal, calling it “totally unacceptable.”
In a post published Sunday on his Truth Social account, Trump said he had reviewed the response from Iran’s “so-called representatives” and dismissed it without offering additional details.
The comments come as tensions remain high over Iran’s nuclear program and security concerns in the Strait of Hormuz.
Recent days have seen renewed exchanges of fire involving Iran and the United States, along with attacks targeting ships and Gulf states and renewed fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
The growing instability has raised concerns about a broader regional conflict and continued pressure on global energy markets.
President Donald Trump is expected to address the conflict during his upcoming trip to China, where he is expected to urge Chinese President Xi Jinping to pressure Iran into making concessions.
Officials say reaching a long-term agreement remains a major challenge as tensions continue across the region.

The Frontier flight, which was headed to Los Angeles, aborted takeoff late Friday night after smoke was reported inside the cabin, according to airline officials.
Passengers were evacuated using emergency slides and transported back to the terminal. Airport officials said 12 passengers suffered minor injuries and five people were taken to hospitals for treatment.
Some passengers also reported problems during the evacuation as investigators continue reviewing the incident.
The preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson will be pushed back by roughly six weeks, though cameras and microphones will still be permitted in the courtroom during the proceedings.
On Friday, Fourth District Judge Tony Graf issued two rulings in Robinson’s capital murder case, approving a request to delay the preliminary hearing that had been set to begin in less than two weeks, while also allowing continued electronic media coverage inside the courtroom.
23-year-old Robinson is accused of fatally shooting Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025. He has been charged with capital murder and could face the death penalty if convicted.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon has begun releasing files on UFOs, tapping into public curiosity about unidentified phenomena. The files feature intriguing sightings, such as a bright object making 90-degree turns over Kazakhstan and Buzz Aldrin observing a light source during Apollo 11. The release aims to promote transparency, though experts warn these videos can be misinterpreted. Some members of Congress are pushing for further disclosure, while the Pentagon's recent report found no evidence of alien technology. President Donald Trump says in a Truth Social post on Friday the release of the files allows people to decide for themselves, “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?”
The Virginia Supreme Court has struck down a Democratic congressional redistricting plan that had won voter approval. The court’s 4-3 decision Friday marked a major setback for Democrats in a nationwide redistricting battle with Republicans ahead of the midterm elections. The plan approved on April 21 by voters could have helped Democrats win up to four additional U.S. House seats. But the court said state lawmakers violated procedural requirements when referring the plan to the ballot. Friday’s ruling, combined with a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that severely weakened the Voting Rights Act, has supercharged Republicans’ advantage in congressional gerrymandering heading into this year’s midterm elections.
Posting on Truth Social Friday afternoon, President Trump writes:
"I am pleased to announce that there will be a THREE DAY CEASEFIRE (May 9th, 10th, and 11th) in the War between Russia and Ukraine. The Celebration in Russia is for Victory Day but, likewise, in Ukraine, because they were also a big part and factor of World War II. This Ceasefire will include a suspension of all kinetic activity, and also a prison swap of 1,000 prisoners from each Country. This request was made directly by me, and I very much appreciate its agreement by President Vladimir Putin and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Hopefully, it is the beginning of the end of a very long, deadly, and hard fought War. Talks are continuing on ending this Major Conflict, the biggest since World War II, and we are getting closer and closer every day. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
