(The Center Square) – State Treasurer Stacy Garrity and running mate Jason Richey are slated to visit several key counties in the final days of the 2026 gubernatorial campaign.

Garrity’s “Turn PA Around” tour will hold events across the Commonwealth and include 14 stops, according to WVIA.

“Our Turnaround PA plan is worthy of the Commonwealth that gave birth to this nation,” Garrity and Richey write on their campaign website. “Together, we will unleash a new era of economic prosperity, make life more affordable for families, renew the American Dream, rebuild trust in our institutions, and put power back where it belongs — the PEOPLE.”

On Thursday morning, Garrity kicked off the tour with a visit to Tammy’s Kitchen in Luzerne County. In the evening, Garrity, a military veteran, is scheduled to hold a veterans rally in Fort Washington, located in Gov. Josh Shapiro’s home county, Montgomery County.

Garrity will head to western Pennsylvania from Friday through Sunday, with events scheduled in Cambria, Mercer, Erie, and Allegheny counties. Her Sunday event in Pittsburgh will be a tailgate ahead of a Steelers game.

On Monday, Garrity will head back east with events planned in Lackawanna, Dauphin, and Bucks counties.

During Garrity’s successful bid for a second term as State Treasurer in 2024, she won the following counties along the tour: Cambria, Mercer, Erie, Dauphin, and Bucks.

Four of the counties that Garrity is visiting, however, were also won by Shapiro in his 2022 victory for governor over GOP state Sen. Doug Mastriano: Bucks, Dauphin, Erie, and Luzerne.

Of those four counties, President Donald Trump won three of them (Bucks, Erie, and Luzerne), while Vice President Kamala Harris carried Dauphin County.

Shapiro and Lt. Gov. Austin Davis are also on a statewide tour of their own, which kicked off on Saturday. The Democratic ticket’s 10-day tour includes visits to 29 counties.

Although Garrity broke the statewide vote record, previously held by Shapiro in 2022, during her most recent reelection bid, polls and ratings outlets show Shapiro as the favorite in the 2026 race for governor.

Most public polling shows Shapiro holding a double-digit lead in the race over Garrity.

National ratings outlets, like The Cook Political Report, Sabato’s Crystal Ball, and Inside Elections, describe the race as “Solid Democratic.”
